RETURN/REFUND POLICY 

All Advanced Technical Schooling (ATS) courses are eligible for refunds within the first 30 days of purchase. Purchasers are required to return all textbooks to ATS in their original packaging/shrink-wrap to receive a full refund of the purchase price. No refunds will be given after the 30-day period has lapsed.

Students receiving benefits from federal or state programs shall be subject to federal or state refund policies, rules, and regulations. 

If the purchaser of the course is the student’s employer or another individual, ATS shall not be involved with any contract/agreement between the employer/individual. All purchasers are subject to the same 30-day return policy indicated above.    

If the books are not returned, or are returned in used condition, a partial refund will be given as follows: 

Pay in Full: Year 1, 2, 3, 4 Interactive and Vermont Type S - $1000; Year 1, 2, 3, 4 Standard, Virginia Year 1, and Virginia Year 2 - $800; NH 30 Hour, ME 45 Hour, Solar, Exam Prep - $175 

Subscription: If the books are not returned, or are returned in used condition, no refund will be given. Purchasers are required to return all textbooks in their original packaging/shrink-wrap to receive a full refund of their 1st payment. 

COURSE POLICIES

Prerequisites: Must have successfully passed the ATS Virginia Year 1 Course with at least a 70% average to be enrolled in this course.

Transferring to ATS: All responsibility is on the student to provide an official document/transcript showing proof of graduation or completed course sent either by mail or email. Students wishing to receive credit for prior schooling from a state in which ATS is not approved must petition the electrical board in the state they are moving to. Once ATS receives that approval, you may enroll in the course.    

Transferring out of ATS: ATS will provide an official transcript to the student and/or to their new school within 30 days of the student’s written letter of withdrawal from their program.   

Admission Requirements:Students must meet the prerequisites for the course, sign the Student Enrollment Agreement and have paid for the course in full or have signed up with autopay and have made the first deposit.  

Rolling Enrollment Procedures: This course is interactive, online, and self-paced. Each student must complete all course requirements within the 8-month course access period to receive full credit and a letter of completion. After the 8-month period has passed, if the student has not completed the course, no credit will be awarded, and the course must be re-purchased to continue schooling. There is no penalty for finishing early and starting the following year directly after finishing the course. Students may complete two courses within one calendar year. 

Schedule of Tuition/Fees and charges: The tuition cost of this course is $1285 and includes textbooks and student portal access for 8 months. There are 2 options for payment: paying in full ($1,285 at time of purchase) or paying by subscription ($428.33 at time of purchase, a second payment of $428.33 automatically charged three months from the order date, and final payment of $428.33 automatically charged six months from the order date).     

Grading: Your final grade is the average of all grade items, weighted equally.

Completion Certificate: In order to receive a letter of completion, students must have a final average of 70% or higher in the course and the course tuition must be paid in full. Once the course is completed, students should request their completion letter by emailing admin@advancedtechnicalschooling.com.    

Course extensions: If students have extenuating circumstances or personal issues that prevent timely completion of the course, Advanced Technical Schooling must be contacted via email to request extension of the course end date. Course extensions are made at the sole discretion of ATS and may be denied.  Extensions beyond this grace period will require a monthly extension fee of $125 per month. Please contact us to obtain an invoice and resume your course.

COURSE DESCRIPTION & MATERIALS

The Virginia Year 2 Electrical Course is an online, interactive course that fulfills 120 hours toward the required 240 hours of formal vocational training in Electrical instruction to sit for the Virginia Journeyman Exam. This course covers articles 500-810 of the 2020 National Electrical Code (NEC), basic motor controls, 2020 NEC electrical exam prep, and 2020 NEC journeyman practice exams.

ATS is listed as an educational provider on the Virginia Board for Contractors: Approved Tradesman Formal Vocation Training Providers list for 240 hours of electrical instruction. We have broken this into two parts: The Virginia Year 1 Online Electrical Course fulfills 120 hours toward the total 240-hours and this Year 2 course fulfills 120 hours. Both taken together fulfill the required 240 hours of electrical instruction.
