NOTE: If you are not the student, we will contact them to sign this agreement. You may close out this window. Your order will still be placed and the student that was entered on the checkout page will be shown as the student on the order.

RETURN/REFUND POLICY 

All Advanced Technical Schooling (ATS) courses are eligible for refunds within the first 30 days of purchase. Purchasers are required to return all textbooks to ATS in their original packaging/shrink-wrap to receive a full refund of the purchase price. No refunds will be given after the 30-day period has lapsed.

Students receiving benefits from federal or state programs shall be subject to federal or state refund policies, rules, and regulations. 

If the purchaser of the course is the student’s employer or another individual, ATS shall not be involved with any contract/agreement between the employer/individual. All purchasers are subject to the same 30-day return policy indicated above.    

If the books are not returned, or are returned in used condition, a partial refund will be given as follows: 

Pay in Full: Virginia 240 Hour – $2000; Year 1, 2, 3, 4 Interactive and Vermont Type S – $1000; Year 1, 2, 3, 4 Standard – $800; NH 30 Hour, ME 45 Hour, Solar, Exam Prep – $300  

Subscription: If the books are not returned, or are returned in used condition, no refund will be given. Purchasers are required to return all textbooks in their original packaging/shrink-wrap to receive a full refund of their 1st payment. 

COURSE POLICIES

Prerequisites: Year 1: Students are required to show proof of a high school diploma or equivalent. Years 2-4: Must be a registered apprentice in good standing with one of the following states: NH, VT, ME, WY* and have successfully passed year one with at least a 70% average to be enrolled in this course. 

*Students may not be a resident of Massachusetts or any other state where ATS is not approved. 

Transferring to ATS: All responsibility is on the student to provide an official document/transcript showing proof of graduation or completed course sent either by mail or email. Students wishing to receive credit for prior schooling from a state in which ATS is not approved must petition the electrical board in the state they are moving to. Once ATS receives that approval, you may enroll in the course.    

Transferring out of ATS: ATS will provide an official transcript to the student and/or to their new school within 30 days of the student’s written letter of withdrawal from their program.   

Admission Requirements:Students must meet the prerequisites for the course, sign the Student Enrollment Agreement and have paid for the course in full or have signed up with autopay and have made the first deposit.  

Rolling Enrollment Procedures: This course is interactive, online, and self-paced. Students must complete all course requirements within the 9-month access period, but not in less than three (3) months, to receive full credit and a certificate of completion. If the course is not completed within the 9-month period, no credit will be awarded, and the course must be repurchased to continue. Students may complete up to two courses within a single calendar year.

Schedule of Tuition/Fees and charges: The tuition cost of this course is $1485 and includes textbooks and student portal access for 9 months. There are 2 options for payment: paying in full ($1,485 at time of purchase) or paying by subscription ($495 at time of purchase, a second payment of $495 automatically charged three months from the order date, and final payment of $495 automatically charged six months from the order date).     

Grading: Grades are based on the following percentages: 

Quizzes = 40% of total grade 

Final Exam = 30% of total grade 

Participation = 30% of total grade (Participation includes VTH Meetings, open office meeting, project report, and survey) 

Completion Certificate: To receive a completion certificate, students must complete all coursework, achieve a final course average of 70% or higher, and have paid tuition in full. The course must also be completed within the required timeframe and cannot be finished in less than three (3) months. Upon completion, students may request their certificate by emailing admin@advancedtechnicalschooling.com.    

Course extensions: If students have extenuating circumstances or personal issues that prevent timely completion of the course, Advanced Technical Schooling must be contacted via email to request extension of the course end date. Course extensions are made at the sole discretion of ATS and may be denied.  Extensions beyond this grace period will require a monthly extension fee of $125 per month. Please contact us to obtain an invoice and resume your course.

COURSE DESCRIPTION & MATERIALS

The ATS Year 3 Interactive Online Electrical Course is an online, interactive course that fulfills the state-required 150 hours of course study required by the states of NH, VT, ME, & WY. In this course you will study Electrical and Construction Safety, Principles of Grounding, Electrical Power Quality, Transformer Principles, Electric Motor Principles and Motor Controls.

Participation:

  • Virtual Town Hall Meeting: Students must attend 4 Virtual Town Hall Meetings. Meetings are hosted once per month via Zoom from 6-8pm Eastern Time. A full schedule of meetings and the Zoom link are found on your Moodle course site.
  • Open Office Meeting: Students are required to sign up for one 15-minute meeting with Nathan during the course. Students may attend more of these meetings, as needed. Sign-up for the open office meetings on Calendly.
  • Survey: Complete the survey at the end of the course to provide feedback to us on how we can improve.
  • Project Report: This is an assignment that will take time to complete so it is suggested that you start it shortly after your orientation and work on it throughout your course. You will be taking four (4) photos each of five (5) different electrical installations you have performed. Create a report or PowerPoint that includes the following for each of the five installations: Paragraph explanation of the installation, the 4 photos you’ve taken, and three (3) applicable code references. Make sure to include a cover page, introduction, and page numbers. A grading rubric, sample report, and the upload link are found on your course page in Moodle.
